Friday's Pieces

Friday’s pieces 12/23

  1. As part of our week of holiday activities, we went to the town of Salerno this week. The whole town was decked out in Christmas lights, each neighborhood with a different theme. The park had storybook scenes from Pinocchio, Aladdin, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Alice in Wonderland.
  2. We also watched some fun movies like Elf and Deck the Halls, and part of Cars (in Italian, of course). On the agenda for today is making Christmas cookies and playing board games.
  3. The mail was super slow this year, and most of our Christmas presents didn’t get here in time. Oh well! I guess Christmas will just be a little longer this year.
  4. I had the flu last Friday, which fortunately was only a 24-hour thing. And thankfully, Tim was able to come home a little early  from work. But then, of course, he came down with it on Sunday. It’s been a week without Noah getting it, so crossing our fingers, I think we’re safe.
  5. Noah and I went shopping last night while Tim played ultimate frisbee. As long as he is not hungry or overly tired, he is a great little shopping buddy. He just hangs out in his stroller and flirts with whoever walks by. Though I did turn around at one point while we were grocery shopping to find him chewing on the cart chain. Um, gross.
  6. He also ate an entire 6-inch chicken sub from Subway for dinner. I fear for the teenage years.
  7. Almost every evening, Tim and Noah play hide-and-go-seek, with Tim hiding and Noah finding. But yesterday, Tim went to go hide and Noah didn’t go after him… because he decided to hide himself! He always hides under the table because he hasn’t quite figured out that you need different hiding places, but it’s so fun that he understands the concept of the game.
  8. This creamy white chicken chili is on the menu for next week. I’ll let you know how it turns out. Doesn’t it look good, though?
  9. Yesterday, I pulled out one of my adult coloring books and went to town. I haven’t colored in a long time, but I really enjoyed it. I even finished an entire page! It was kind of mesmerizing, you know?
  10. I hope you all have a very blessed holiday weekend, celebrating the birth of our Lord. Merry Christmas!
