  1. Sunday evening, we went to a live nativity. It was so cool! It was a 17th century village, though the actual nativity part was “authentic”. It was meant to be like the traditional nativity scenes from Naples, only with live animals and people who were really spinning wool, mending shoes, and making cheese.
  2. New Year’s Eve, we were planning to just stay home and then watch the fireworks here at midnight, but finally decided to head to the top of the parking garage at the base. We figured everyone would be awake anyway. I wasn’t able to get very good pictures of the fireworks, so I just soaked in the view. It’s our last NYE in Naples, after all. *sob* But if you want to see what I am talking about, there are videos on YouTube. Here’s a not-great picture. That’s Mt. Vesuvius in the background, and all the little lights are fireworks. It was amazing!

  3. I have been looking for a way to catalog my books that isn’t typing all into excel. Oh hey, there’s an app for that! I started a database using the MyBooks app on my phone. That way I can see if I have a book when I’m at a book sale or something. It’s also great for keeping track of the books I own but haven’t read yet. I’ve done two shelves and already have 26 books in the unread folder. Wow! I figured this would also be great to have when we move because there’s never a guarantee that your stuff will make it to you in perfect condition.
  4. Remember our giant mouse friend from this summer? Well, I went out to get some firewood and discovered that apparently he decided to move into the shed. Uuuggggh.
  5. The decluttering is going pretty well, though so far I’ve only done areas that I had already done not that long ago. But I still got rid of a good amount of stuff. Nora was being fussy yesterday afternoon, so I sat down to watch Netflix. Did you know that Marie Kondo has a tidying up show on there now? Holy cow, that’s motivating. I was surprised that she wasn’t as nutty in person as she seems in her book!
  6. Because Noah doesn’t pronounce all his letters correctly yet, some of the things he says are just so funny. Yesterday I was cleaning out a closet and I gave him some reusable sticker sheets to keep him busy. He had a train piece and was saying “All aboard on crack three!” And he asks for a “poon” (spoon) every. single. time. I swear he thinks he’s saying the “s” even though he isn’t, because if I call it a “poon”, he says “No, a poon!”
  7. We went to a Noon Year’s Eve party at a friend’s house on Monday. They released tons of balloons from their upstairs balcony at noon and the next hour was spent in a frenzy. Nora got into it, too.

  8. Ok, so I started on a pair of pants. They are cut out and part of the pockets are done. But then I got busy. There was grocery shopping and decluttering and laundry and a baby who wanted to be held. And my room is soooooo cold. I will get back to it eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later, because my fabric has been shipped.
  9. That’s right, I ordered more fabric. *shrugs* They were having a sale. I got a couple yards of “super plush” and I’m going to make leggings with them. I will never want to take them off! I also got more fabric for pants and a couple dresses.
  10. It was very cold last night and we even had a few snowflakes. Noah’s room doesn’t have a heater in it, so we let him sleep in Nora’s room. That made for an early morning for both of them. Pray for me, ya’ll.
